Halo: Reach Premiere Trailer

According to Microsoft and Bungie, this trailer is the "first non-teaser trailer of Bungie's eagerly anticipated sci-fi shooter shows an entire squad of Spartan soldiers on the besieged titular fortress planet."

That's not what it is, and that's not what it shows.

This is nothing more than a cinematic, and if past Halo games are any indication, it has absolutely no relevance if you're looking for hints about the quality of the graphics of the game. Disappointing, to be sure.

But, Halo: Reach is still several months away. (I assume the "Falls 2010" text near the end isn't a typo but is rather a play on words. But Halo: Reach is expected in Fall 2010.)

More info can be had on Gamespot. But I want to see in-game footage.

I wasn't that impressed with that trailer. I thought the announcement trailer was more impressive. Still waiting for Microsoft to give hint on Halo 3 for PC...:(

I wasn't all that impressed by Halo 3's graphics. Period. The characters looked pretty rough, texture quality was quite low, and the in-game lip-sync stuff was something you'd see from Half-Life 1 (the original, not the Source Engine remake). I'd like to see more cinematic in-game 3D. And this crap about using the in-game 3D engine and pre-rendering it as a video because of framerate issues is just garbage, and a waste of disc space. If game developers can't design the game engine to run on the target hardware at full framerate, they need to go back to the drawing board. If they're pre-rendered, they should be in movie-quality CG.

Tough room by a bunch of saps that will buy it and play it all the way through.

Halo is getting long in the tooth. Unlike COD it does not really add all that much with each new version.

@gfryesc1 Maybe when the remaining games come on PC, I'll do that :P

Of course it's a play on words, this is basically the game version of the book 'The Fall of Reach'. Reach Falls in 2010. Fall of 2010. You don't have to assume there ;-)

*Yawn* Where's the variety of exclusive titles on the Xbox 360? Owning a PS3 already, what would have me purchase an Xbox 360 alongside it? Honestly, I can't see any added value there. Now I know that if I had an Xbox 360 instead, I'd still want a PS3 because of the exclusive titles it has. I have 2 jealous friends that are in that situation already since I showed them what exclusive titles are available right now.

@gfrysec1 - I am a reader of Paul's site, own a 360, yet I am not a sap and I didn't buy ODST. You need to quit generalizing everyone on this site. Rather, just go away from this site. I hate it when I come to this site and read the comments and always see your idiotic comments hating on Paul and all of the readers. I don't always agree with Paul, but I don't make elitist comments about how he's always wrong on every single post. Just leave and take your attitude and picture that screams "Look how big of a douchebag I am!" OK, I'm done, but seriously, please go die in a fire.

Microsoft are thieving yet again. No surprise since that's in their DNA http://blog.plurk.com/2009/12/14/microsoft-rips-plurk/ Microsoft, still evil in 2009.

"If Microsoft had Google’s market share in search, is there any doubt that they’d be systematically demoting or even banning their competitors in the search results?" There is no doubt. Microsoft, unlike Google, is Evil. http://www.aaronsw.com/weblog/googled

I agree with Wae, there is NO compelling reason to get a 360 at this point. Fear of hardware failure alone should shun everyone away. With BR, Netflix, onboard wireless, free PSN, user upgradable hard drives, silent operation, web browser and many exclusives the PS3 is hands down just a better deal. I will give Xbox Live the nod when it comes to communicating online with friends, its a better experience. That said it used be 100x better but Sony slowly has closed the gap. Cross game chat will completely close it and its rumored to be coming very soon.

Apple and Google get awards... no mention of Microsoft. http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/09/12/14/apple_named_brand_of_the_d...
