HP MediaSmart Server Software Update Status

The HP MediaSmart WHS device is overpriced and underpowered. I'm very surprised at how in love Paul has been with the device. Sure it's cute and has a very small footprint, and will do what most people will need of it, but it's value ... it's bang for the buck is very low. I can configure a far more powerful WHS computer out of brand new parts from a locally well known computer store here in Vancouver Canada, for only $100 more than the price of the HP MediaSmart ... with a 2.6ghz Core 2 Duo CPU, with 2GB ram, ... with onboard video and sound even though there's no need for these things! The only downside is it takes a mATX case ... a bigger footprint, but still significantly smaller than a tower case. Your machine will be obsolete before it's time for you to add more hard drive space to it ... mine will be running fast and strong for years. If massive HP can't beat a good local / regional computer store, why buy anything from them? You can't even modify the configuration of computers purchased from them, at least not through the HP Canada website. HP's own small-footprint Slimline computers are far more powerful for essentially the same price as the MediaSmart ... but HP won't sell a Slimline with WHS installed, not when there's suckers out there who will pay too much for the Buzzword 'Server' device. Paul, you appear to have been involved with Windows and Computers in general for quite some time, what happened? How is it you got sucked in instead of ordering a better, cheaper machine from a local store? Did HP just give you one so you could march like a lemming over the cliff of free advertising and promotion for HP?
