Microsoft RTMs Windows XP for OLPC

From the Microsoft's Unlimited Potential blog:

Microsoft internally "RTM'ed" (Released to Manufacturing) the Windows XP version we are building for the OLPC XO computer. Windows on the XO looks like it is on track for availability in these types of national educational PC deals in September. We still have no plans to make Windows available for individuals who bought an XO in the Give 1 Get 1 program though.

"We still have no plans to make Windows available for individuals who bought an XO in the Give 1 Get 1 program though." I'm sure the six people still using the things will be saddened to hear this.

"We still have no plans to make Windows available for individuals who bought an XO in the Give 1 Get 1 program though." Actually, that is kind of a shame. My nephew (he's 11) has one of those XO laptops, given to him as a present by a well-meaning but misguided relative. He never even turns it on because, in his words, "It doesn't do anything." Maybe if he could put Windows on it he could actually figure out something to do with it. Just kind of a waste, that's all.
