Not sure how I missed this the other day--oh right, because it's lame--but Microsoft this week actually delivered a couple of new Windows Vista Ultimate Extras. No, really. Stop checking the calendar: April 1st was weeks ago.

If you're running Windows Vista Ultimate and noticed two new Ultimate Extras have shown up on Windows Update - don't worry, your eyes do not deceive! Today we released two new Ultimate Extras: Windows Sound Schemes and Windows DreamScene Content Pack #3.

Windows Sound Schemes is a pack of 2 new sound schemes for Windows Vista: Glass and Pearl.

Windows DreamScene Content Pack #3 brings you 3 new DreamScenes for your Windows Vista desktop.

  

See? I told you an investment in Windows Vista Ultimate would pay off. :) I'll download these as soon as I download the Estonian language pack.

How ironic that this was released on Earth day. A day for thinking about the environment and they release something for wasting CPU cycles.

I was curious about the the "Who is Paul Thurrott?" pingback so I clicked on the link, hehe, Paul's sarcasm has confused an Estonian. "I like to listen Security Now podcast and also Windows Weekly from TWiT. Windows Weekly is with Paul Thurrott and thats why I like to read his blog also. Today when I was about to write about new Estonian language pack for Vista SP1 I saw the Paul Thurrotts blog about new Ultimate extras for vista. In the end I found that he will try these extras after dowloading Estonian language pack. Why? Is he Estonian?"

This isn't relevant, but after installing these extras and checking out the new sound schemes, I got the distinct impression that the sounds were created by the same guys who made music/sound for Rise of Nations.
