Onion spoofs Apple: The Macbook Wheel

In the wake of today’s stunningly bad Macworld keynote, I am remiss for not having previously posted this hilarious Onion product spoof.

Apple Introduces Revolutionary New Laptop With No Keyboard

“Everything is just a few hundred clicks away.”

“Here at Apple, we like to give people features that they don’t even know they want yet.”

The Macbook Wheel won’t hit the shelves for another three to fifteen months…

Apple fan: “I’ll buy anything if it’s shiny and made by Apple.”

Same guy (After spending 45 minutes to type an email): “I never realized how much I hated the keyboard until I saw this thing … I like that the email says ‘Sent from a Macbook Wheel.' That way, people know you have one.”

And my personal favorite:

“It remains to be seen whether the Macbook Wheel will catch on in the business world, where people use computers for actual work and not just dicking around.”

LOL. Exactly.

Thanks to everyone that wrote in about this.

It's actually a funny video. You have to be a total fanboi, and take yourself WAY too seriously not to see that. I laughed at the "If Microsoft did the ipod packaging" video, and I laughed at the Macbook Wheel. Why not?

chuckb84 Agreed. Those are both great videos. (Most of the people I know at Microsoft love the iPod packaging video - I'd hope the Mac Book Wheel one is as appreciated at Apple)

Microsoft is almost as bad as these copycats. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g98Iet1XxwI

@kalewallace: "They should've made mention of it costing...oh... $2800! Screw that.... I'm leaning more and more to doc's $400 Vista laptop." You get what you pay for. A poor man pays twice. You pay $400 for a crap laptop with a crap OS (Vista, of course), that's what your get. Crap on crap.

No post about Microsoft's ill-gotten $1.5bn from their deceitful "Vista Ready" campaign? http://networkcomputing.in/Network-Infrastructure-006Jan009-Vista-Capabl... Deceitful indeed!

@dipshiadmin: "So, the non-replaceable battery is what passes for "innovation?" That's pretty funny. And I'm sure you've verified their "greenness" right, roberstjoe?" Try and get good battery life on Vista first, then talk to me.

@mikegalos: "Seeing how Windows Vista outsold the total installed base of all versions of OS X combined in a matter of weeks, if Vista's "not good" that means OS X is Insanely Awful." That's due to the Microsoft tax. Once you're in, you're stuck using a sucky OS. Funny how XP keeps on keeping on. Why? Because Vista sucks. Plain and simple. It's a tarnished brand. That's why they are moving to Windows 6.1.

@mikegalos: Sales numbers == good? You're dreaming. Microsoft is the McDonald's of software. Cheap shit. They buy their crap then get diarrhea when they get their viruses and spyware. You'll reach for anything you can to make you (supposed (but invalid)) points. Sales numbers != good. Got that?

My first post, just to say that robertsjoe really needs to go away and stop posting his drivel here. How has everyone accepted this fool for so long?

@Dip: robertsjoe is one of those kids who has his mittens sewn to his sleeves. BTW: The weather's been crazy here. Last week it was raining, and most of the snow was melted from the big pileup we had over the holidays. Then it turned to freezing rain over a few days. 2 days ago it was nearly 8C and fairly warm with almost no wind, and now it's -5C and snowing like a sh*t storm.

What on earth does that have to do with the topic? I know Canadians love to talk about the weather, and it's nice that you pulled your head out of your a$$ long enough to look around, but honestly...if I want to know if it's raining in Canada, I'll check weather.com.
