Rivera unlocks all hidden features in Windows 7 M3

Rafael Rivera has spent a busy few weeks fulfilling the dreams of Windows users everywhere and his latest tool is a magnum opus of sorts: The Blue Badge tool, which unlocks all hidden features in Windows 7 M3:

Last week, I revealed a weird protection scheme around some unfinished features in Windows 7 (build 6801). I provided a buggy tool to enable the new Taskbar, then teased everyone with other features such as gestures, panning, and Desktop Slideshow. It wasn’t intentional, I just needed some time to rework the unlocking tool, which went faster thanks to some code snippets from my Vize friend surrounding the headaches of TrustedInstaller and PendingFileRenameOperations.

As the dialog indicates, patched files are not backed up. I suggest all users back up. [See post for details.]

Right now, an x86 download is available. Raf tells me he’ll get the x64 version done today. Good stuff, man.

"Or you could just use SBS, accomplish the same thing" LOL....this was built in Oct of 2007 so SBS 2003 which does not support more than 75 users, and wont allow Terminal Server for applications to be used, unless you HACK the registry and break security (TS users on a domain controller) would just NOT work. Besides if you have supported Quickbooks Enterprise in a TS configuration you would know it likes to suck the life out of a server so it works best having the its own server VM or other wise. If I were to build it today I may use the SBS 2008....but doubtful since its brand new and like to let the amateurs like your self test it on your customers flush out the problems on their dime (Fleecing at work) help MS patch it. Further more I would not use Hyper V at this time for the very same reason. VMware is proven and has a huge customer base to prove it. A year from now post 2008 SP1/R2 and Hyper V updates I might consider a full MS solution....maybe. So who SUCKS at IT?
