Is Windows 7 complete? I'm hearing that the final build is 6.1.7600.16384.win7_rtm.090710-1945 and dated July 10, 2009. I guess we'll see.

I have also heard about this on a couple different forums. If this is true, it is kind of strang MS decided on build 7600 when they were not even to the 7300s yet. It does look promising for the MS event this week.
July 10th - FWIW, I think that would have been the equivalent of build 7273.
This is a little little like Navin R. Johnson and the new phone books.
So far the leaks look legit. Of course only 10 of 32 pieces are available, but nothing looks faked yet.
WPC seems like a good time to announce the RTM. They would even be early.
I truely hope that Microsoft's Windows 7 team polished up the code when it comes to the Internet Explorer 8, any last minute bottlenecks, and some performance gains. That's really where Windows 7 RC falls short. Otherwise, Windows 7 is absolutely stellar. I just hope Microsoft rethinks the retail prices between now and the GA. I'm glad the family pack has been confirmed by multiple media outlets now.
If they could get some additional OS speed, less processes running in the background, tighten up IE 8's security, and improve IE's performance with plugins like Java, Flash, etc... That would make a real difference when making the case for Windows 7.
However, money talks and BS walks. Microsoft needs to really revisit the price. That's the only monkey wrench in the works. Other than that, Microsoft has done a really good job with the OS. Windows 7 is 120% better than Vista.
The free pony is promised for Ultimate edition. Guess what's going to happen! :)

I read that tile as "RTFM" instead of "RTM".

People will buy it and then complain when they got every single promised feature but didn't get the ones the press speculated were going to be included?
You know, like what happened with Vista Ultimate. :)
People will complain that they are getting ripped off hundred(s) of dollar for a minor upgrade. While Snow Leopard is only $29.
How about someone type “winver” and see if the timebomb is gone? That might give you a clue.

Installed build 7600 in hyper-v, no expiration date in winver, updated wallpaper, no xp mode by the way, also install didn't offer specific version, apparently need to delete ei.cfg in sources directory for it to offer other versions, didn't try it myself yet.
Whether or not this is RTM, my guess is as good as anyone's at this stage, but it is close I would say.

Speaking of 7, I tried the RC over the weekend and loved it! I had to uninstall it because I didn't get Aero, even though the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor said I would, and something went wrong with my video card, but for the few hours I had to play with 7, I loved it! Hell, even IE8 seemed faster!
I cannot wait for Windows 7!
