Thanks for the Video Christian.

All I can say is WOW!

That is a huge leap forward in UI for desktops and tablets.

Impressive, truly impressive!

Do you think it would ever be possible for Microsoft to change the way older (non-touch) applications appear in Windows 8? Remove the older start menu, task bar and the actual application window. The older applications launch full-screen just as the new HTML5 apps.

I like having this UI option in the OS. I assume the tiled UI could be turned off in the same way you could go back to the "Classic View" in Windows XP. In this way the new UI seems somewhat evolutionary. I use one machine for productivity and have it connected to my home theater on the other side of the wall. When accessing the computer through the TV interface, the tiled UI would be great.

Windows has always been a customizable OS. The user can tweak the UI experience for each type of device. If Win 8 is compartmentalized and efficient, why wouldn't it work on a tablet? The "classic" UI is already mature. So what if a new tiled, touch friendly UI were also developed? I don't see Microsoft breaking compatibility and removing features, or removing the "classic" UI. The new UI is just another way to access the features of the OS that are "under the hood". What I like is having the choice. So what if I end up changing the UI to folders with "details" view. :)
