Windows Home Server Update Released Tomorrow

Another Microsoft announcement. And this time, I'm actually part of it. :)

Tomorrow (Tuesday, Sept 25) Microsoft will release a first update to Windows Home Server via Windows Update, providing enhancements to the product usability and out-of-box experience for customers. Details of about the update are available now at the Windows Home Server blog: http://blogs.technet.com/homeserver.

Updates to Windows Home Server will be delivered throughout the lifecycle of the product. Microsoft has provided this update to its hardware and distribution partners and, as previously stated, HP will incorporate this update in the HP MediaSmart Server.  Customers already using the system builder version of Windows Home Server will automatically receive the enhancements through Windows Update.

On another note, I wanted to let you know that on Wednesday, September 26, the Home Server team and guest judges Ed Bott, Paul Thurrott and Rob Enderle will be selecting the first-, second- and third-place winners for the Windows Home Server Code2Fame Challenge at the Microsoft Redmond Campus. Using the Windows Server and Windows Home Server software development kits, contestants were encouraged to create software add-ins to expand the capabilities and benefits of Windows Home Server. For more information on Code2Fame, please see here.
