Windows Mobile 6.5 Custom Theme Creator

One of the nice features of touch-based Windows Mobile 6.5 devices (unlike, say, with the iPhone) is that you can really customize the user interface, with a color scheme, menu and balloon window styles, and custom (photo) wallpaper that is visible under the top-level UIs, not just at the welcome screen. Now, Microsoft lets you create your own Windows Mobile 6.5 theme, using the web-based Windows Phone Custom Theme Creator:

Want to set your phone apart from the crowd? Make your Windows phone* an extension of your personal style by designing a custom look for it. Use your favorite photo or any other image, add colors and style, and then text the custom theme straight to your phone (or your friend's phone, for that matter).

*The Custom Theme Creator works with Windows Mobile 6.5 touch-screen phones. (Click here for instructions on how to tell what version phone you have.)

Windows Mobile is dead. It's pathetic. Looks ancient compared to the offerings from Apple and Google. This "news" isn't even worth a post. Struggling to find anything positive to say about Windows Mobile? How's 7 coming along? MS still busy copying Apple?

30 Million users isn't dead, and it looks pretty modern compared to Android and iPhonse OS 3.?

@robertsjoe - Don't be an idiot. Winmo is not dead by a long shot. They did stall for quite a while in the consumer market, but no way is it dead. now, if you like a phone that is customizable, check out WebOS. Beats the iPhone hands down! As for themes, check this out - http://www.precentral.net/webos-themes --tayme

Doesn't using WinMo make you stand out enough as it is? ;-) More seriously, back in my Linux days, the first thing I did with a new piece of software was customize anything I could to "make it mine" or whatever. As I get older, I care less about how software looks and more about how it works, and Apple nails the UX time after time. There are a few people that could probably improve upon the iPhone UI, but I'm not one of them. So why would I bother?

"As I get older, I care less about how software looks and more about how it works, and Apple nails the UX time after time." Well, see that is one of the things about OS-X I don't like. I find the UI to be odd, and visually unattractive.

That's weird...2 different users with 2 different opinions about what they like. Who'da thunk it? --tayme
