"I've never seen anyone so excited about something so lame, boring and irrelevant." You mean like the iPhwn $3G? How about Mac OS X 10.5.5?

Here is one of your own doing what you guys whine a cry that all of these awful Microsoft users are doing on this site. So are you going to let loose you fury on this troll and his flame, or are you going to pretend like you never saw it?

The 64 bit Zune 3 software that I got from their default download location doesn't want to install on my 64 bit Vista Home Premium box: "Installation failed Setup must stop because the required package 'Zune' didn't install. Fatal error during installation. Error code: 0x80070643" The error dialog has a reference to the following support URL, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/944938?sd=zune, which allowed me to download a larger installation package containing x86 and x64 versions. Unfortunately, neither of these versions will install. The x64 version gives the same error and the x86 version says it can't install on 64 bit systems.

@Master3 "Ok, Apple guys. Here is one of your own doing what you guys whine a cry that all of these awful Microsoft users are doing on this site. So are you going to let loose you fury on this troll and his flame, or are you going to pretend like you never saw it?" Sure. It's a stupid troll post. Do you really need MY acknowledgement of that? There are idiots who use Windows and revel in it, and idiots who are just the same except they use Macs. Of course, marketshare numbers would indicate that there are 30 times as many idiots of the WIndows ilk :). Kidding! It's a joke!

Seriously though, trolls are trolls. Both in Mac and Windows flavors. Easily ignored Mike, on the other hand...

Anna_T, thanks! I turned on the Windows Firewall service but left the firewall in off mode and it allowed me to install. That's a pretty stupid requirement but even stupider was the fact that the error message didn't tell me why it failed.

drylight, don't be an idiot. There's enough stupidity in here to last a lifetime. If you're really not interested, why did you take the time to comment. Others, let's not descend to this level of idiocy. I mean, I'm going to. But you should try and maintain your dignity. :)

Wow. This update is beyond useless to Canadians that don't have access to the Marketplace yet. Not only do I have a Marketplace listing on my device now that serves absolutely no purpose, all the cool new stuff like Mixview, the new visualizations, Buy from FM (I had realised that this wouldn't work without the marketplace anyways) are all completely invisible on my device. Ya know MS, I have mo problems not being able to buy the content, but I'm pretty sure you cuold have at least thrown us a bone and made the data available so we can get all the entertaining stuff from the Zune 3.0 software. http://img404.imageshack.us/my.php?image=zune3canadacd3.jpg Just lovely...

I am at work and will not be able to update the 3 Zunes in my house until tonight. :-( But, by then, I should be able to find plenty of information on how that updates are going for others. @drylight - That was a pretty mature comment...nice trolling. @Waethorn - ditto for you. Paul is right...if you don't like the subject of a posting that he puts up, there is really no need to add your thoughts...if you disagree with something, and can provide logical, mature reasons for the disagreement...then, I say go for it. Good, rational discussion is worthwhile. --tayme

Hey, Paul...what were those additional features that were not announced last week? I think I read that on your site...but it may have been elsewhere. --tayme

I just downloaded the upgrade at work (will do home tonight). It was more or less seamless. I do not have a pass so I can not take advantage of the channels, but after looking at them, nothing really stood out as a must. I was glad to see that my setting did not change. Clock looks good, but I wonder if it will have to be updated if power goes out or during DST. I played Hexic and it was pretty cool, but I needed to turn the touch pad off (I just can't get the hang of the touch pad with my big ole digits. I still am waiting for the same sorting features that I get of the desktop. I want to be able to sort albums by date added!!! If anyone knows a trick, I would love to know. Paul, thanks for the forum to discuss the Zune. I don't hate the ipod, but I do not like itunes, and I have too many wma files that I do not want to be converted to apple

This is great news for all MP3 owners of every platform. Good solid competition will force better prices and/or better services, gadgets and quality. Let them fight it out while we reap the benefits, Mac, Windows and Linux user. I'll bring the pizza and beer. Mike and Paul, you bring the popcorn. John can change the channels since he;s the TV expert. Wae is screwed as he's Canadian, but still invited. Tayme, I'll have a wheelchair for ya, since you're so old! Dipsh lives down here, so he'll find it.

D@mn! Another party to which I haven't been invited because I'm a vegetarian! :-) Tayme, I think the secret feature was the McDonalds wireless thingy. It's interesting that when the Zune was launched, MS was talking about having kiosks at places like Starbucks where people could download music. Then Starbucks went with Apple. So, I guess this was what they came up with.

Sharky...come on over...Popcorn is vegetarian, isn't it? And beer...beer is made from hops, which is a vegetable. Regarding the secret feature...I did see that one. I was hoping for more, I guess that I'll have to go to YuckDonalds and try it out sometime. I thought maybe they would roll in the NetFlix thing that they are adding to the 360...that would be pretty cool. --tayme

I'll bring the Kool-Aid! I'll even bring it on a platter and I'll wear a mock turtleneck... Although I think you are in southern NJ. That's like a different country to us northerners.

"Sharky...come on over...Popcorn is vegetarian, isn't it? And beer...beer is made from hops, which is a vegetable. " Good enough for me. :-) " I thought maybe they would roll in the NetFlix thing that they are adding to the 360...that would be pretty cool." That would have been amazing. I don't think they would've made those announcements today, though. Maybe in the next couple of months?

Yeh Sharkster, I'll get some tofu too, but I'm a meatatarian. It's a committment, but as long as there is pepperoni or sausage on the pizza, I can eat it. Is plain pizza a legit veggie dish?

"drylight, don't be an idiot. There's enough stupidity in here to last a lifetime" You're right, Paul. There is enough stupidity to last a lifetime; just look at the posts themselves! Oh come on! Couldn't resist. :) Especially after being called an idiot. Nothing's taken seriously, all is taken and given in jest.

Thanks for the updates, the Zune may not ever outsell the ipod, but I enjoy FM radio and the new feature is very cool. The new ipods are no better than the Zune's, and I'd never buy a touch, to fragile.
