When I started my series about Windows 8-compatible Microsoft mice and keyboards back in September, a number of readers wondered how I had gotten multi-touch gestures working with certain devices. Well, here’s how: It’s called Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center 2.0, a minor update to the first version of Microsoft’s visually stunning replacement for IntelliPoint and IntelliType.

Do the gesture thing with your Microsoft mouse!

You can download Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center 2.0 from the Microsoft web site. But if you already had this software installed, as I’ve been recommending, you’ll be prompted to update it.

I wonder if this update will finally restore Microsoft's support for the Office Keyboard. Somehow I doubt it, which is too bad because this is one of the best keyboard designs that they've ever built. Of course the real mystery is why support for this Microsoft device ended so prematurely, just like it did for my fingerprint / wireless mouse combo, or the SPOT Watch, or my Zune 120 player, or...I'm starting to wonder why I keep buying their products...
