Office 365 to Launch in June?

Speaking at the Confederation of Indian Industry Cloud Summit this week, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said that Office 365 would officially launch this month, in June. This is the first time Microsoft has even hinted at a date for the Office 365 launch beyond a vague “sometime in 2011.” Here’s what he said:

We're pushing hard in the productivity space. We'll launch our Office 365 cloud service, which gives you Lync and Exchange and SharePoint and Office and more as a subscribable service that comes from the cloud. That launches in the month of June.

Of course, Ballmer has a way of just saying things. But if accurate, that’s sooner in the year than I was privately led to believe.

Have you heard if there are plans to include Office 365 plans in MSDN Ultimate Subscriber benefits?

Alvin: sign up as a cloud partner and you'll get a year of 250 seats for BPOS (soon to be Office 365) and InTune on 10 PC's. After that, you get a discount if you don't sell any contracts to customers. The information is on their Cloud Accelerate page. It is meant for resellers....
