New Version of Samsung Ad ... Now With Even More Mocking of Apple Sycophants

The other day, I blogged about one of the single best tech industry ads I've ever seen. But here's an even better version, with 24 additional seconds of Apple sycophant bashing. If you just can't get enough of this oh-so-deserved comeuppance--and really, who can resist?--you're going to love this new version of the ad even more.

If you're familiar with the initial version of the ad, you'll appreciate the addition 24 seconds of footage in this version, which includes such new gems as ...

"Only seven people stand between us and ... " "... Meaning."

"4G!? Is it 4G?" "It doesn't say! It doesn't say!"

"Is this what adultery feels like?"

It never gets old. But it does keep getting funnier. Thanks to David H. for pointing out the new version of the ad.

I almost cried laughing when I saw this the first time. Oh to have the kind of advertising talent that created that. Microsoft didn't create the ad, but it is the best medicine for the years of bashing that MS took at the hands of Apple with no reply at all. Those ads single handedly raised the level of animosity between the two. The best part is that because MS didn't create it, MS can benefit from the brilliant advertising as it steers folks away from Apple and back toward anyone but Apple. This ad works for BOTH Samsung and MS. This isn't about technology, this is sport.

I'm an iPhone 4s user and I find this ad hilarious as well. There is absolutely nothing wrong with poking fun at your competitors, it's what advertising is all about. I did notice, however, that the ad says NOTHING about one teeny little factor, though, the horrific battery life of a 4G phone, which is the deal-killer for my switching from the iPhone any time soon. Just a thought.

Scott, the word is spelled 'edjit'. A scots word for numpty. Which, if I think about is also a scots word... One of the several reasons I didnt go with the iphone was because of the numpties potrayed here. Harmless really, but who would want to emulate them. Yeah I know its picky, but how a product is perceived before you pick it up is an important factor in purchasing. Great ad, wonderfully done, its great how it makes those who believe they 'Think Different' are now those who all think the same. Is the distortion field about to collapse?

Typical Thurott hypocrisy. Bash it when Apple does it, celebrate it when someone does it to Apple. "I was a vocal critic of Apple's "I'm a Mac, I'm a PC" ad campaign for two reasons. One, they often lied about Windows. And two, they were more about mocking and criticizing Windows and PC users, and less about selling the advantages of the Mac." http://www.winsupersite.com/blog/supersite-blog-39/news2/apple-turns-off...
