Microsoft Delivers Lync 2011 for Mac

Microsoft today announced that its Lync 2011 corporate communications client for the Mac was complete. (A version previously shipped for Windows.) The product will be generally available to volume license customers on October 1.

"Lync for Mac brings rich business communications experience of Lync to our Mac volume licensing customers," a Microsoft spokesperson told me. "Now, Mac users can get a better communications experience that, includes IM/presence, web conferencing and enterprise voice capabilities."

Starting in October, our Mac customers will be able to experience the integrated communications experience that Lync has become well known for. From the updated contact cards to the ability to set up Lync conferences from Outlook 2011 for Mac to enterprise voice features, Lync for Mac 2011 offers Mac users integrated functionality for presence, instant messaging, conferencing and voice and is designed to work with both Lync Server 2010 and Lync Online.
