Considering that they only sell both Zune hardware and services in the US, and Canada only has the hardware, while Apple sells both in many more countries, the statement is pretty accurate.

I'm not able to view this at work. I thought the zune reference in Chuck was really funny as well.

I laughed. The iBoi's of course ran with this as some sorta vindication of their faith which was even more hilarious.

weedmonk is so right. Talk about kneejerk reactions. I think it's hilarious how Apple fanboys immediately latch on to anything positive about Apple and then run with it ... I'd love some links, weedmonk, so I can enjoy the running. I can't find any at the moment, though ...

Quite surprised the Zune didn't take off in the UK - the 30GB version was selling at a much lower price than the iPod for quite some time. I think one of the major problems was the complete lack of marketing or information - the device seemed very US-centric, and was something of an unknown being a latecomer to the market. Although the iPod was more expensive, it was a 'known quantity' having been around a while. Or at least, that was the major component of why I bought an iPod rather than the comparatively cheaper Zune

One could easily state that vindication is in the iPod market share [much like you Win fanboys do with OS market share....50 times a week at this site], but actually, most iPod users use Windows. SJ was quoted stating around 90%, I think, which was a couple years ago. Not even current "record" Mac sales is going to change that much because of the sheer volume of Windows users that own an iPod. I'm still the odd man out with a Sansa. [We actually have 4]. You wonder if Subzero's point about similar benchmarks of Psystar's clone's affordable computers [compared to Macs] would help Apple more than it would hurt. I hope they [Psystar] win.

I wonder what happen to Mr. Pewderschimdt and Gates? they use to play card together, and hang out.

@ DRWAM I bet you there are a few OEM's behind Psystar. The whole business smells fishy. @Waethorn They sell Zune in the UK too. Mind you, I have never seen one here!

Hilarious? Barely amusing, speaking as a Mac user. Gates is not even the correct parody target, and its impossible to laugh at a guy doing so much good in the world. Length of clip = market impact. Negligible.

"They sell Zune in the UK too. Mind you, I have never seen one here!" Really? Where? Their website doesn't have a UK option. Just English(US), English(Canada), and French(Canada). That's it.

@Avro: I'd really like to know where you saw Zune's being offered for sale by Microsoft in the UK. According to them, they are not for sale outside the US and Canada. UK (Europe) releases are not expected until Fall 2009.

@ Waethorn They seem to be sold be several sellers including this one and Amazon UK http://www.zunethings.co.uk/ Google UK came up with this result http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=Zune&btnG=Google+Search&meta=cr%3... Several members of forums I belong to in the UK have them. From a fellow Canuck :-) .

I am a UK Zune user but I can assure you they are certainly not sold here, I have homes in America and a US bank account so I am ok but my friends who are desperate for one can't get one easily at all. Soon hopefully.

As I pointed out they are sold here in the UK.

"As I pointed out they are sold here in the UK." If Microsoft doesn't sell them, it doesn't hardly count. I can tell you of several sellers that were illegally importing them into Canada when they still weren't available officially. As per Microsoft's export rules, if they don't sell them officially in a country, it is illegal to export them to, or import them into, a country. Besides, try getting it activated in the UK. They are blocking IP's outside of North America to the Windows Live ID/Gamertag page that allows you to register your Zune.

"As I pointed out they are sold here in the UK." You're right. That is, if by UK, you mean Univ of Kentucky or Univ of Kansas. I can buy 5 Zunes here and sell them in China. Would that mean Zunes are sold in China?

@chipwinter: "I think it's hilarious how Apple fanboys immediately latch on to anything positive about Apple and then run with it ..." Don't be a hypocrite. Did you already forget the Microsoft fanboys orgasming when the Apple "experience" was parodies on The Simpsons? You Microsoft fanboys have such short memories. I'm just shocked that Paul posted this. I thought he'd conveniently skip it (which he did not do with The Simpsons parody (he was all over that like a fat chick on a twinkie)).

"he was all over that like a fat chick on a twinkie" So tell me, are they letting your mother out of her cage yet? Go back to playing "hide the iBrator" or whatever it is you do.

@waethorn: Go update your anti-virus definitions, 'cause you know there are thousands, upon thousands of those things attacking your insecure OS which leaks like a sieve? Me? There are ZERO viruses attacking my OS. It's clear which is better when it comes to security.
Waethorn
on Feb 17, 2009
"There are ZERO viruses attacking my OS." That's because nobody cares about it, much like you. It's just a p!ssed-away after-thought by Apple to lock in a bigger revenue stream for their already overinflated-priced computer hardware. They only care about squeezing your nuts until you cough up more dough for them. Maybe when you grow a pair and open your eyes, you might be able to recognize a con game. Of course, you'd need an IQ that doesn't dip into the negative first.

on Feb 17, 2009
No, @waethorn -- it's because Windows is an insecure POS OS which was left open like a barn door for years and years and Microsoft didn't give a crap about their users. Now you are left with something that has thousands of viruses written to attack it. You have to now slow down your machine with software to try and protect you from it. That, in a nutshell, is one of the many reasons why Windows is a POS.

You guys just can't laugh and move on, can you? I'm looking at you Waethorn. Seriously, switch to decaf or something. Sheesh. (And before you label me as an Apple fanboy of some sort, I thought the Simpson's stab at Apple was funny as well.)

"So tell me, are they letting your mother out of her cage yet?" Ahhh weee-littlehorn always there with the 13 year old comments. Why dont you just post some more Malware links so your Windows buddies can duck up their boxes? You brother put the "Tard" in WinTard. Time to go back into your basement and do some 3Dmark benchmarking on your home brew desktops you sell to Canadians.

@ Waethorn Sorry I missed the part in your about 'sold by Microsoft' and @ Shark47 they are being sold from United Kingdom websites including Amazon UK so hardly the University of Kentucky. They are being sold here.

Major difference between the Mapple and Zune "jokes" The Simpsons made a more complete parody that I consider to be high satire. Everyone got a good chuckle out of it, and God knows many Apple fans found some truth to it. This was just a typical Family Guy throwaway gag between "do you remember the time when I..." segments. It's like they got robertsjoe on the phone and asked him to make a joke about the Zune really fast.
