Microsoft Announces Long-Awaited Windows Live Essentials Wave 4 Beta

Since posting my review of the new Windows Live Essentials a few weeks back, I've gotten a lot of email from people wondering when they could get their hands on it too. I've been wondering myself, but it's here now, or will be tomorrow. Here's the word from Piero Sierra:

Tomorrow, hot on the heels of the Hotmail roll-out, the new Windows Live Essentials becomes available for public beta testing. Windows Live Essentials beta requires Windows Vista or Windows 7, and is available in English, French, Japanese, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, or Spanish.  As soon as the beta goes live tomorrow (we’ll update this blog post when it does), you'll be able to get it from here.

As previously announced, this release of Essentials is focused on two things: connecting Windows 7 to the cloud services you already use, and making everyday tasks simpler, so that you can do more on your PC.

Thanks for the heads up Paul. Looking forward to checking this out and its long overdue. Have been checking out your early reviews and it looks like being a nice update over live 3.

Amen finally. Paul does the new Photo galley support Geo-tagging? I just got a new Panasonic ZS7 with GPS last weekend.

I'm still unsure about the updates for Live Mesh going to Live Sync. However, if Paul's happy with it then it should be fine for me :)
