Windows 7 Beta imminent?

Looks like the rumors of a December 19 release of the Windows 7 Beta 1 may, in fact, be accurate. Microsoft has added the following info to their public Windows 7 Web site today:

Download the Windows 7 Beta

The link errors out (for now). Most interesting!

Thanks to Tom Warren from Neowin, who IM’d me from his iPhone. Now, that’s dedication! :) Thanks man.

The link is gone, but hopefully that was someone jumping the gun only a little early. I'd love to be playing with the real beta soon!

"Shark, the fact that you couldn't follow Lindy's point is truly remarkable...I expected it of Mike Galos (and got it), but not from you, who usually seems way more level headed." Well, if robertsjoe sp2 expects a civilized conversation here, it would help if he is civilized too. Like the original robertsjoe, his only job here seems to be to badmouth Microsoft, its products, and some of the posters here. lindy, seriously, keep this going. You seem to have left robertsjoe behind with all your insults. I guess that makes robertsjoe a good teacher, no?

I'm sure the delays for Windows 7 will be announced in due course. Don't fret. It's normal. They'd want to get things right this time after the disaster that was (and is) Vista 1. More of the same with Vista 2, I'm sure. No wonder people still want XP. How pathetic to spend to much time and effort only for people to want your older product. Says a lot about how much a second-rate OS Windows is. Always has been.
