Did something go wrong when editing the show? Both the podcast I downloaded and the video here on this site cut off mid-sentence.

Apparently so. A fix is coming, sorry.

it was quite a sad episode when one of the hosts tried to compare the xbox to PC sales and somehow suggest it is a failure then go ahead to dismiss it as if there was any other set top box (a more relevant comparison) which sells in the quantities the xbox does.

Talk about comparing apples and oranges. FACT: apple tv, and google tv combined can't sell what xbox sells in a month. FACT: PC sales are in no way relevant to set top box sales. FACT: when google and apple tv have been struggling for years, while the xbox surges.

windows phone probably has a better chance at overtaking android than google/apple do with their failure of set top boxes.

Paul: i listen to a lot of tech podcasts including this one, weekly. This episode had perhaps the most profound effect on me that any single episode of any podcast ever had. Not putting you on either. :) You and Andrew basically said -- think of iPhone / Android -- they are both rows of icons which are apps, you tap in tap out --- its the same thing year after year. The Android OS has become slightly smarter with some widgets -- but its so non-intuitive. From personal use and helping clients -- I know how to work iOS with the best of them. However its so ritualistic. You're always going from this to that to this. Too many choices!! I see your point about the home screen in WP8.

I actually bought an iPhone 5 last week and returned it today -- it made me feel so ADD'ish. I went back to just a plain jane fone to catch a breath. However a Wp8 device like the Nokia 620 that's unlocked and allows me to go with a lower monthly cost prepaid plan could be right up my ally.

Could I arrange my home screen on WP 8 this way? Let's say I just wanted email, messages, People, Calendar, internet browser, and whats app? I just want it to be simple.

also have one more follow up on this -- lets say I got that Nokia 620. I know its NT kernel based. Using the USB cable could I hook it up to a Windows machine and use some type of utility that would allow me to access the file system?

I would want to do one and only one thing with that -- delete the Camera driver. I dont want to get into the "why" -- i just want to do it. I keep a separate digital camera for photos. On an Android phone or iPhone I know how to delete or disable the camera.

Is there any resource I can consult for an off the record answer? For iPhone, Apple openly publishes a utility called iPhone Configuration Utility that one person (or an IT dept) can use to disable the camera on an iPhone. An Android device can be rooted and camera.apk can be deleted. For a Blackberry -- one can use a Windows app called BBSAK to delete the camera driver. I know how to use all three tools. I want to be a Windows Phone user.....if I could do the same thing.

If you're paranoid about the camera being used remotely, why not just scribble over the lens with a permanent marker or open up the casing and pop the camera hardware out?
