There are two ways to search for apps -

1. Use the app store and search within it.

2. Use the system wide search (as explained by this article), which will also return any relevant...

Paul, have you tried KVADPhoto+ Pro?

What particular features are you after in your photo editor?

Tuesday, September 17, 2013 - 20:30

I think that's the whole point - they want you to go out and buy a brand new computer, with a touch screen.

Thursday, September 12, 2013 - 16:37

No. It depends on what you want to do with a tablet.

If you want to view 2 apps side-by-side, or want to watch movies in full screen, or want to have lots of room above the touch-screen...

Yes and no. It depends on the processor. For example, there is a Haswell Core i3 processor which doesn't need a fan.

I disagree, for two reasons -

1. They didn't dump their core developer base for HTML5/JavaScript. You can write apps in XAML and C#/VB which means that any .NET developer familiar with WPF...

Nokia added a lot of value to Windows Phone through it's own apps and integration, and it's possible that Nokia might do the same thing with it's Windows RT tablet in order to make it a far more...

Paul,

The simplest solution would be to allow Windows Phone apps to run on Windows RT.

This solution solves the "apps" problem, whilst at the same time maintains the extra...

Paul,

What sort of battery life are you getting on the 720? I've been looking to upgrade from my Lumia 800.

Friday, June 14, 2013 - 11:41

You're forgetting one rather significant point...

Office Mobile for WP7 and WP8 is FREE, and you don't need any Office 365 subscription to use it.

The iPhone version of Office...

There is a very good reason why Microsoft classifies an iPad as a PC... that's because it actually helps Microsoft's case with Windows 8 tablets such as the Surface Pro.

See, if you...

Sunday, May 5, 2013 - 06:12

Wrong. This issue has existed way before Windows 8 and Metro. In fact, I have an older tablet which came pre-installed with Windows 7. Guess what, it had exactly the same problem.

With...

Sunday, May 5, 2013 - 06:04

No, Microsoft are not ignoring the billions of people without touch screens. Want to know why? They can install something called Windows 7.

Wednesday, April 24, 2013 - 15:32

Yes it does.

Sunday, April 7, 2013 - 06:44

What you need to understand is that Windows Phone 7/8 can also be used as an app-centric phone if you choose, just like iPhone.

The difference is that the iPhone cannot be used as a people-...

If Windows Phone 8 is a joke as far as it's market share is concerned, then Apple's OSX must also be a joke for the same reason.

Paul,

Looking at the Defaults screen, can the default IE web browser be changed to some other 3rd party web browser in this new update?

Tuesday, February 12, 2013 - 08:44

There is one advantage to having 16:9 in portrait mode.

Run MS Word without the attached keyboard and use the on-screen keyboard instead. When you are in portrait mode, you now have tons of...

16:10 is available in the new Kupa Ultranote X15 tablet, available with Core i7 and 8GB RAM.

Wednesday, February 6, 2013 - 11:56

Paul, it will be interesting to see what you think of the Kupa Ultranote X15 when it's released.

8GB RAM, 128 GB SSD, Intel Core i5 or i7, removable battery, 10.1" IPS 1920 x 1200 digitizer...

Tuesday, February 5, 2013 - 15:52

The battery life indicated depends on what you're doing. It will go up and down depending on the type of activity and what you are connected to. My Samsung 700T tablet does a similar thing.

Apparently the Surface Pro does NOT include WiDi because it does not have an Intel Wireless chipset. So WiDi would need to be done with a USB dongle.

It does have NFC.

Wednesday, January 23, 2013 - 06:19

It might have WiDi. Certainly the processor and graphics card support WiDi, so it just depends on the WiFi adapter included.

Wednesday, May 16, 2012 - 07:03
Paul, Any news on whether this kind of feature might make it into the release candidate? It would be awesome if it did.
Wednesday, May 2, 2012 - 09:58
I think this is an excellent solution! If only you could set the background picture to be the same in the start screen as the one used in the desktop then it would look seamless. I like this snapped...
