I'd also like them to add default colors to the tiles as well as the ability to make them transparent, just like on Windows Phone.

Paul, do you have a screenshot of the changes in File Manager?

Friday, September 19, 2014 - 11:53am

I'm glad to see that they're continuing to enhance File Manager. Here's to hoping that Microsoft finally adds tabs and bookmarks to File Manager!

Also, I hope they open the Share contract...

The URL to buy the laptop is broken, but this appears to work:

Here are a a couple things that I would love to see in Threshold that I haven't heard anything about yet:
- Tabbed windows in File Manager
- Bookmarks in File Manager.
- Bring...

The new version of Google renders text much better. You can't tell at most resolutions, but if you're at 4K (or close to it), the text is blurry. The new version thankfully fixes this.

Friday, August 22, 2014 - 8:47am

Paul, when this comes out, we'll need dual-boot instructions. :)

Monday, August 18, 2014 - 12:25pm

Microsoft would score a lot of points with hardcore geeks if they simply enabled "Windows to Go". The feature is already built, so it would cost them nothing to enable it in the consumer versions...

I bought a Treasure Tag a few weeks ago, but it doesn't work with my Lumia 1520. I'm hoping that this update will fix the issue. I lose my keys way too much. :(

This seems to be about the encryption of the data as it's being transported. There doesn't seem to be anything about storage of the data. Does this mean that our files and e-mails being stored...

You don't actually need to reboot each time you make this change. Logging out of your Windows account and then logging back in let me see the change.

I don't understand either. is a tech enthusiast web site. If you're not a tech enthusiast, why are you even visiting this site?

Yes, I've registered my device and I've installed the developer preview app.

Is there a limit to how many phones I can upgrade to using the developer preview program? My 520 upgraded...

Well, I'm not sure what to do. I've already done the most extreme thing possible by resetting my phone. What else can I try?

Wednesday, May 14, 2014 - 1:50pm

Despite numerous reboots and 3 complete resets, I've never been able to install 8.1 on my Lumia 1520. I hope this fixes the issue.

Wednesday, May 14, 2014 - 8:30am

I like the always visible navigation bar. But I hope they added a way to remove an app from the 'Your Apps" list. Whenever I try an app, it automatically gets added to this list. There doesn't...

Tuesday, April 15, 2014 - 3:40am

I keep getting the error, "The update was downloaded, but couldn't be opened. (8018830f)". I've rebooted more times than I can count. I have a Lumia 1520.

Sunday, March 9, 2014 - 8:31am

I hope that there's an equivalent Windows Metro app that syncs with the Windows Phone app. I'd love a Windows desktop app, too, but that's probably too much to ask for.

Thursday night, I discovered that Driving Mode also prevents me from using my camera while walking. That was the last straw. I had reset my phone and now it's back to normal. I don't know if my...

Tuesday, March 4, 2014 - 10:20am

I turned on Driving Mode yesterday, and ever since then, I am no longer able to listen to podcasts in Music+Video, or run Pandora and Netflx. Music+Video gives me a 803a0000 error code and Netflix...

Doesn't Secret Santa mean that they're identity is a *secret*?

Monday, December 16, 2013 - 6:24pm

While I agree that today's hardware buttons are far too easy to hit by mistake, especially the Search button, why would an on-screen button be any different?

Wednesday, December 11, 2013 - 9:00pm

In addition to the Start Menu, I'd love to see MS bring back the Aero glass effects (including Aero peek). Any news on that?

Wednesday, December 11, 2013 - 7:56am

"rabid and irrational hatred"

Wow. I bet you don't seen the irony of that post.

Monday, December 9, 2013 - 6:44pm

This is good news, I guess, but I really wish MS would focus more on improving the desktop, rather than simply undoing the mistakes of Windows 8. Other than a better task manager and faster boots...

I can run Excel and Word on my Chromebook and I only paid $170 for it. However, I am considering getting a Windows laptop so I can establish a VPN and remote desktop to my computer at work....

Wednesday, November 27, 2013 - 6:21pm

I'm going to have to disagree with Paul regarding the 1520's size. I bought a 1520 on Friday and it fits just fine in the front pocket of my pants. I was worried that it wouldn't fit, but it...

Thursday, November 21, 2013 - 6:43pm

Yes, thank you jimbie882. There's no reason why MS can't and shouldn't have multiple lines of tablets to appeal to different users. Honda, for example, has multiple lines Civic, Accord, Fit, CR-...
