Umm, compared to the iPad, the SP3 *is* heavy and thick, and not just perception.

From the MS website, the SP3 weighs 1.76 lbs (800 g), and is 9.1 mm thick.

Just a data point - when you add LTE to an iPad Air, you also add GPS. So, in this case, Microsoft is actually more expensive than Apple (you get less for the same $130US).
