Perhaps it could be re-worded but seriously why would MS want to make it easier for people to choose local over MS account? They want people in there eco-system and I see machines all the time...
I don't recall this being one of the conditions of the Bing sku, I thought it was purely the hardware spec and end user sell price that qualified the system for Bing sku usage.

What about it? If you are using Windows 8.0 you are expected to upgrade to Windows 8.1, that's how you get IE11.
I agree, if you look at similar priced notebooks they tend to be utter ****, depending on the use case (perhaps browsing the web and email) the Surface 2 may be the better suited device.
I have a shop full of computers to upgrade this is crazy. I think I will try and get the Win 8 product keys from the machines BIOS then do an in place upgrade from DVD using the non activatable...
Agreed I would like to switch my primary MS account to my outlook.com alias but can't due to it breaking WP8 purchases.
