No iTunes Mobile App for Windows 8/RT? Good! Commented on: 49 weeks ago (May 11, 2013)

iTunes is also a bloated app, which makes it a bad choice for tablets. From a user's viewpoint, the advantage of iTunes is having one unified place to deal with music, video, books, podcasts, etc...

(Re)Start Me Up: The Great Windows 8 Debate Commented on: 49 weeks ago (May 9, 2013)

I couldn't agree more, plus you can organize your apps into whatever groups make sense to you and hide the ones you don't use. Far better than the Start menu even on a non-touch computer.

Yes, Windows RT Has a Role to Play in the Future of Windows Commented on: 50 weeks ago (May 4, 2013)

One possible issue (and I am the owner of a tablet running RT) is that the OS itself may be too big. Just as Win 8 is large for current tablet hardware, even RT is too big for low end tablets,...

Report: Windows 8 Secures 7.5 Percent of Tablet Market Commented on: 51 weeks ago (April 25, 2013)

The iPad mini is a "low margin" device based on what? If it had come out at the $249-299 price many had hoped for, maybe, but surely not at $329. Plus, each memory increment is the same $100 it...

Maybe They Should Just Call It Windows 7.8 Commented on: 1 year ago (April 19, 2013)

Windows 8 Tip: Manage Startup Applications Commented on: 1 year ago (April 17, 2013)

Since I am using Windows RT, often without a keyboard available, I just pinned Task Manager and a few other utilities to the Start screen as tiles.

Windows 8/RT: State of the Tablet/Hybrid Hardware Commented on: 1 year ago (April 15, 2013)

Another factor is that Windows 8 is just too big an OS for current tablet hardware. Gobbling half of a 64GB tablet is a big disadvantage when users are used to the smaller footprints of iOS or...

A Theory about the Office on iPad Schedule Commented on: 1 year ago (April 10, 2013)

For me personally, this schedule works out fine, as the only one of these products I am interested in is the Metro versions of Office apps.

For Microsoft, this makes no sense. Giving iPad...

Sleeping with the Enemy: SkyDrive for iOS 3.0 Commented on: 1 year ago (April 3, 2013)

Isn't that the same exact solution that Amazon is using with the Kindle app? Amazon then gave out a way to make a web app to buy books. I agree, it's strange that this took so long. Anyway, for...

Microsoft Comes Out in Defense of Windows RT Commented on: 1 year ago (March 22, 2013)

ALL of the Surface architectures have compromises of one sort or another, you just choose the one that makes sense to you, and as an Asus VivoTab RT owner, I certainly don't think that RT makes...
