Sorry to be thick, but will installing the TP wipe the applications that I have already installed on my desktop?
It used to do that when installing Win8.

I ran into this when actually searching this keyword. (I'm an avid ballroom dancer.)
I thought the only way forward for Microsoft was to make a clean cut between both metro and desktop.
I am glad to see that I was wrong, and that there is a way to weld/meld the two together...
Here's a run-for-the-hills solution:
Get a razor-sharp separation between Desktop (including the legacy start menu) and Modern.
Switch between desktop and "Modern" on user request...
