Hands On with Windows 10 (Redstone 2) Build 14926 for PC and MobileSep 14, 2016
After spending the last couple of weeks tweaking and updating their backend tools for managing various builds of Windows, Microsoft has released a much awaited build of Redstone 2 to members of the Windows Insider Program Fast Ring.
This build arrives 15 days after they provided Redstone 2 Build 14915 to testers back on 31 August and nearly a month after Build 14905 was shipped to Insiders on the 17th of August.
As for those of you who want two or three builds a week now, I am not expecting the pace to pickup to anywhere close to the number of builds we were seeing towards the end of the Anniversary Updates development this past June and July. However, now that they have got things where they want them on the server side, I wouldn't bet against a new release in the Redstone 2 development branch around every 10 days or so.
Redstone 2 Build 14926 is a milestone build of sorts as it has some of the first new features showing up on both PC and Mobile devices. This may very well be the beginning of us starting to see what Microsoft plans for the third major update of Windows 10 which is expected sometime in early 2017.
Until then we can at least give you a walk through of these latest updates so you can see where things are starting to head.
P.S. Be sure to check out the new Windows Anywhere settings page screenshot. It looks like that will be a future replacement for Sync your settings.
