I thought the Windows 10 ISOs were universal now? 32bit/64bit Home/Pro all in one?

I am currently running 32bit and want to down load the 64bit ISO, does it give you an option to do this?

Yes it does. It assumes the same 32 or 64 bit you are running it on. It offers an option to create either 32 / 64 bit. It also allows you create an ISO file or a USB Flash Drive.

Actually you can download a universal .iso. You have to uncheck the box labeled "use recommended setting for this pc." You will then be given the option of downloading an iso with both 32 and 64 bit versions. Its nearly 6gb though so it won't go on a standard DVD. It might be better to download them separately and have 2 DVD's. I'm not a fan of using a USB device since I have had numerous problems with them.

I have done this three times now and the media created on my flashdrive fails. The message is Windows has failed to initialize the working directory. I've tried it on my wife's desktop and my laptop both running 1024.

I found the problem. I ran scandisk on the flashdrive and fixed errors. Feel dumb for not thinking of that earlier.

I created a DVD with the media tool and everything went great. The download took about 10 minutes and then another 5 minutes to create the iso file. After that I used the Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to make a DVD. No problems.
