Microsoft Bringing Xbox LIVE to Windows 8 Too

So we already knew that a Windows 8-esque, Metro-style UI was coming to the Xbox 360 this fall as part of a new Dashboard update. But Microsoft is also working to move that UI back to Windows 8, in the form of Xbox LIVE for Windows 8. This is a replacement for today's awful Games for Windows LIVE interface, of course, but ... man. Does it look nice.

Here it is.

According to Microsoft, bringing Xbox LIVE to Windows 8 is part of the software giant's "vision to bring you all the entertainment you want, shared with the people you care about, made easy." Sounds good to me.

Wouldn't it be interesting if Sony or Samsung made a 55' TV with Windows8/XBox/Kinect/MediaCenter integrated into one device with all of the advanced connectivity an HUB integration we see on Windows Phone? I would be willing to pay $3500-$4000 for a unified device with access to all of my media and cloud services. Just a thought....

Any indication that this is the Media Center replacement? If so is it going to pick up the ability to record and view TV from connection, Music CD ripping, DVD movie ripping and access to digital content stored on a home server? Will I be able to Play To my XBOX 360 and WD Live TV Plus so I can find content on my PC and then send it to my HD TV without going to the XBOX and finding it again?
