Just a quick note to thank Nokia for picking the SuperSite for Windows as its Blog Star of the Week. It's an honor to be noticed in this fashion.
Here's a bit from their write-up.
"Windows Supersite is so massive (both in volume and in the range of Windows stuff covered) that it's a challenge to pick what to highlight here – especially given that it's all the work of one man ... With several in depth articles published every day, there can be a lot of content to digest on Windows Supersite – but Paul's weekly Short Takes column and two podcasts (one on Windows, the other on technology in general) are a great way to get to grips with the latest developments."
"Paul describes Paul Thurrott'sas his 'gift to the Windows Phone community' and it's quite some gift. In short, it contains pretty much everything you need to know as a user about Windows Phone. It's full of overviews, explanations, tutorials and quick fixes – and plenty of information on Nokia specific use."
So, I guess I'll just add that it's always weird when the hunter becomes the hunted. I write a lot about Microsoft, Nokia, and other companies, and about Windows, Windows Phone and other technologies and products But I don't often read anything about myself, and it's a bit weird to do so.
But again, thanks.
By the way, I don't usually pat myself on the back, but I did also win the 2013 Jesse H. Neal Award for Best Blog this year. In some ways, being recognized by Nokia is just as meaningful. I'm obviously a fan of their work as well.
